ReBornFree3

Follow with me as I ride across the States back to Wisco, then on to Pennsylvania for the Gypsy Run - gonna be posting along the way...

In the meantime, here's video from the months, days, and hours leading up to Born Free 3. Both of us working on our builds, with parts of our ride out to Southern California for BF3.

Unfortunately, even with all of the work, Rich didn't get his bike done. So, since I was already re-building my chop, we put mine in the builder's circle instead. Got the chop put back together on the 19th of June, then took off on it for the coast three days later...

Here I go again-

Pin-Striping --- Pacman

Beginning of June...

Got all of my sheetmetal done and ready for paint when I had to make a decision, get the pin-striping done with the tins off of the bike or on it?

Got a guy named Roadie here in Denver that has been striping for quite a while. So, I figured, what the hell, I'll have him do it.

Horrible decision on my part. This guy Roadie blows. If you know him, you can tell him I said it. He fucking sucks at pin-striping.

I was gonna wait until Born Free and have Pacman do it all, but I thought what the hell, how bad could this Roadie be? Well, I found out... really bad.

Got my sheetmetal back from my painter, who left this Roadie guy alone at his shop with detailed instructions of what I wanted done. This guy is either on way too many drugs, had his five year old nephew stripe it, or he's a horrible excuse for a pin-striper. Turns out, drugs would probably help this guy's striping ability, he striped it worse than a five year old, and no one should even consider him for a striping job.

Talk about completely fucking up something I had been working so hard at for months before that. The very last piece of the puzzle that needed to get done outside of Shamrock Fabrication and the guy completely screws my shit up. Worthless...

Fast forward to Born Free 3...

Got ahold of Pacman the week before heading out for L.A., filling him in on the story and sending him pics of the crap that was striped on my tins. We talked it over and Pacman said he would be happy to re-stripe it for me at the show. Pulled my bike out of the builder's circle, into the shade and out of the crowd for him to be more comfortable getting the job done.

Pacman knocked it out, no problem, exactly what I wanted. He's a talented guy and someone I'm happy to call a friend.

If you are in the Denver area and want some striping done, he'll be in town for Love Thy Chopper this weekend...

Thanks again Pacman, I'll see you this weekend in Denver...

Here We Go...

Reservations are in for Camping at Born Free 3. A nice shady spot for Irish Rich, Me, and whoever else decides on getting rowdy with us cross-country(everyone says they're going, we'll see who goes and who bails at the last second). Shit happens, but I'm definitely not letting anything get in my way of this.

The month of June is filled with rides and parties, might have to quit my job in order to hit em all. First, I have to finish up the chop, she's getting a make-over. Almost everything is in order, just gotta dive head first into this shit once the last couple parts come in, hopefully soon.

See you in California...

Born Free 3 - June 25th, 2011

Well, mark your calendars and tell your boss to go to hell, because if you missed the Born Free 2, you missed one hell of an event - you don't want to miss it next summer. The guys who threw this event did almost everything right. Free beer, free admission, and a panhead chop that was raffled off to some lucky guy.

This coming summer should be better, if that's even possible. For one, it's at a location where everyone can get loaded and crash in their tent within walking distance. Unlimited free PBR and riding a motorcycle don't mix like two dicks and no chicks, so showing up and partying from start to finish will be great.

Also, Grant(one of the guys who puts this show on) got ahold of Irish Rich and asked him to be one of the few builders to have a bike built for the show's builders' circle. Kick ass. From a guy who knows what Rich has got under his sleeve, his chop should blow most people away - I can't wait to see what some of the other builders come up with as well. On top of all of this, they're giving away a Knucklehead chopper this coming year, built by the guys at Garage Co.

If all of this doesn't get your blood running, maybe loading up your bike and taking a week-long trip across the great United States will motivate you? Get the boys together and start planning now. For more info and to keep up with show details/news, check out the Born Free blog site - link on this page...

These guys threw my Born Free 2 Chop-trip video(Hellhounds and Breakdowns) up on their blog, gonna have more footage from the Born Free 2 coming out soon. Gotta get some more storage first, too much footage from this summer...

Check back soon-
