Power -

Time and time again while riding my chop, I tried lifting the front wheel off of the ground with no luck. Not enough power under me and too short of a front end. So, with the work I'm putting into the bike, I'm waking the engine up a bit with a new cam, lifters, and pushrods.

It'll make wheelies more possible and cracking the throttle on the highway a little more fun. Especially when I'm passing cages on two-lane roads with traffic bearing down on me from the other direction. I can't wait...

Gotta get my engine out of the frame and make a trip down to Deluxe in Denver to see my friend Randall...

Shamrock -

Hello? Hello?.... Hello?....Hello?......

Been pretty busy over at Rich's. Jobs are getting finished and shipped out while more keep coming in - Thanks to everyone who supports Shamrock Fabrication.

Got personal projects that need time as well, not enough hours in the day... anyone know where to find a nice, reasonably priced shovelhead? Just the engine, nothing else...

Pipe Down Son

Got going on my pipes this past week. Had a little problem on my first day, pin-holes in the welds. I spent most of the day mocking, cleaning, welding, and grinding - only to fuck up not once, but twice. Don't know if it was impurities in the metal or my welding? So, frustrated, I gave up and decided to try again the next day.

Came in the next day and busted them out, no problem. Over-cleaned every piece and took my time making sure I didn't waste the day.

Our good friend Rudy from the NorthWest gave Rich some kick-ass finned exhaust tips when we were in Spokane one year. Rich is letting my use them on my re-build. Pretty cool.

Almost all done, should look and sound good ripping down the highway...

Got out on my FXR today for the first time in a long while. Spring's here - speed signs are pretty unnoticeable to me when I first get back on the bike... actually, they're almost always unnoticeable, unless I'm riding by a smokey.

Changes -

Front end is getting some work done to it, inside and out. Race Tech suspension kit. Better handling, as well as a different look...

Been busting out the pipes the last few days. Messed up a little, took a break, then rocked em' out once I got my rhythm back. I'll save that story for another time though...

Steamroller.......? Anyone got a spark?

Whiskey and Drunks - St. Patty's

It's a bird, it's a plane, nope, it's a bottle of Jameson, and it's gonna fuck you up.

If you're standing upright by the end of it all tonight, and can form a full sentence without slurring, getting slapped, or falling down - beware of girls like this, that bucket might be your face at some point.

Killer boots.

Some images of what's to come...

Hill Climbing Video/Nate Dogg

The next time you feel like riding up a hill...

On another note... Say it aint so?

A little something most people don't know about me, I love 90's gangster rap... Big loss to an industry that's gotten softer and softer with time.

Seat Studs

Whether its working late nights or feeling like crap(most of the time it's self-induced, my tolerance is going to shit), been getting over to Rich's later and later in the day lately. Got over there for a couple hours to punch this out before I take the pan to BITCHN STITCHN in Lakewood to get it covered. Felt like I got something done - it's good for me to get over to his place, even if I don't accomplish a damn thing.

Had to cut the old lugs off and position new ones for my seat springs. Ended up moving the pan back(re-welding new studs closer to the front of the pan) to get the same sitting position I had before. Gonna have to give Fab Kevin a call for one of his invisible seat hinges as well.

About the same width as the old, but shorter with more of a dish in the back - It'll look good with what I've got going.

On to the sissy bar...

Pull Through -

Can't imagine the shit Japan is going through... Some of the nicest, hardest working people I've ever met/worked with.

Next time you feel like complaining about petty bullshit you might have to deal with in your day-to-day life, think about something on this grand of a scale... puts things into perspective real fast.

Motorcycle Eyewear -

Back to gear. Got a little side-tracked the past week or so, but here's the next part of the gear posts.

EYEWEAR -
The right pair covering your eyes can make a big difference in visibility, comfort, and packing size. I prefer a pair of glasses with photochromic lenses(according to light conditions, fade from clear to dark-or the other way around) and foam around the edges. This allows the best of both worlds, no need for an extra pair of lenses or glasses and no wind or elements getting into your eyes. If you wear contacts, these are priceless when heading out on the road.

Another alternative is to get a full-face helmet and take that on trips for eye protection.

Helmet options are totally up to you... Sizing, strength, ventilation, comfort, weight, coverage, style, and price are a few things to consider.

I've got no advice, they all give me headaches.

These next pair of HD goggles are one of the best pieces of road-wear I've ever had. They kick ass, plain and simple. These pictured have photochromic lenses, mine have interchangeable lenses(extra set fits in my pocket). They flex to my face, keep all the elements out of my eyes, and the lenses pop in and out in seconds. The foam has been peeling in some areas, but they're used and abused out on the road-
HD Road Classics, $95

- Mid-flex for any face shape yet still offer a snug fit by way of a flexible bridge
- Folds up to pocket size
- Photochromic lenses that transition from light to dark
- Adjustable backstrap for preferred fit
- Microfiber bag
- Gloss Black Frames, Day/Night Lens

Throughout the years, I've lost countless pairs of shades while I was on the road. They fly off pretty damn easily when you crank your head doing a fast lane change or passing other vehicles. The goggle back-strap eliminates the need to worry about that. Never thought I'd wear goggles, but these things rule.

Cook's Corner Bar

With camping nailed down for BF3, I've been thinking more and more about Cook's Corner Bar after hearing stories from some of the old-timers. This place has got a lot of motorcycle history and I'm excited to hit it in June. I love old saloons. Being a biker bar and having more than 125 years of cabin/restaurant/bar history, this place is gonna be quite the experience - especially with hundreds of choppers rolling around during that weekend.

So, here's some pictures I dug up off the internet.

Check out the holes in the roof, allowing the trees to grow through

Guessing it's gonna be a bit wilder on BF3 weekend

The more miles, the better
